Born January 25, 1857 in Püskop, Hungary. Known for historical and orientalist subject matter after visiting Italy and the Orient. Later, painted portraits and landscapes. In charge of decorating Vienna's National Theater in the beginning of the 20th century. Student of Szekely in Budapest, Raphael Collin and Anselm Feuerbach at the Academy of Vienna. Worked in Munich, Paris and Vienna. In the collection of: Museum of Modern Art, Vienna; Vendanges en Basse, Austria. |
