Born in Haydenville, OH. Painted New England rural landscapes with focus on trees. Studied at Art Students League in New York and with William Picknell. Moved to Haydenville, MA (both Haydenvilles were founded by his family).
 
Exhibited: Salmagundi Club (member); National Academy; Boston Art Club; Philadelphia Art Club; Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts; Society of American Artists; and Columbus, Ohio Museum of Art, retrospective exhibit in 1942.
 
In the collection of: Columbus Museum of Art, OH; Evansville Museum of Arts and Science, Indiana and Delgado Community College, Louisiana.
