ART FROM EARLIER PERIODS (Period Art)
In addition to our vast selection of contemporary work, the Oxford Gallery maintains a large and ever growing selection of period work. We have available many fine European and American paintings dating from the seventeenth to the early twentieth century. Our specialty, though, is the art of nineteenth century America.
We only purchase work which we feel has high artistic merit and which we can offer for resale at prices that are more than competitive. Because we own all of the period work in our inventory and feel comfortable with its investment value, we can offer buyers a unique guarantee: Oxford will always repurchase from the original buyer any work at its original purchase price (less costs, such as tax and shipping, incurred by the Gallery in the transaction). This assumes that the work is returned in the condition in which it was purchased and that it has not been offered for sale through another commercial venue since its purchase from Oxford.”
A collector of period art can be sure, when buying from Oxford, that his or her investment will maintain its value.
Period Art Return Policies
Customer is responsible for the cost of shipping. Amount refunded will be net of any cost incurred by the gallery for the original transaction such as the sales tax and credit card charge.
Oxford's location outside a major metropolitan area allows us to minimize our operating overhead. We are frugal in our administrative practices and aggressive in our pricing. While we may offer small discounts for the purchase of multiple works, our prices are the same to collector and dealer alike. We at the Oxford Gallery still believe that the best marketing strategy is offering good value in honest and ethical dealings. |
